SIGN 4: From vegetables to flowers
The products from this polder were famous in Europe. Peas went to the French Court and the Queen of England was fond of “Veense” strawberries. From 1930 onwards, vegetable cultivation was gradually replaced by flower cultivation: it yielded more.
